The learning journey I have embarked on at the Australian Academy of Digital Marketing, has been profound.  I have explored best practises in many topics such as social media, SEO, content creation, emailing marketing and most recently website design and UX. This is a brief overview of 3 marketing skills I have developed.

Email Marketing

Crafting a considered email marketing campaign is a talent not to be underestimated. Developing my competency here by incorporating personalisation, segmentation, engaging subject lines, effective copy, and CTA’s has led to an appreciation of what underlies successful campaigns.

SEO

For improved organic research and maximum visibility, marketers will turn to SEO (Hollingsworth, 2021). The requirement to conduct a website SEO analysis using a variety of online tools; provided a comprehensive understanding of how to interpret the performance of a website and associated recommendations. The role of key words, meta descriptions, page size, requests, link building, mobile, security and speed, to name just a few, were all explored.

Content

Content creation’s integral role in digital marketing is acknowledged by the course, with most topics requiring this to be conducted. This heavy emphasis has led to a deeper appreciation of content best practices such as relevance, heeding the buyers journey, repurposing, keywords, imagery and video usage to boost audience engagement, brand awareness and sales.
